As an Airpods user I am excited to give Airbuddy from Guilherme Rambo of 9to5Mac a try. For $5 this macOS Mojave app provides the same battery-status case-opening experience as you get with Airpods on iOS, plus a quick connect button. Seems worthwhile, although many disagree.

I have high hopes for Luminar 3, due out December 18th. This version of Skylum’s photo editing software will be released with an accompanying DAM, called Libraries. It’s been promised for over 18 months. Hoping the DAM will make Luminar a Lightroom replacement.

Hmmm. I wonder what Menuetto can offer that isn’t already covered by Marked App on Mac? Seems like a direct competitor/copy of an existing product without any added functionality. Currently featured on the Mac Appstore too.

I really enjoyed taking this video journey with Stephen Hackett, examining the strengths and weaknesses of an industry-defining laptop from 2001, Apple’s Titanium Powerbook G4. I remember lusting after one of these when I finished design college. It felt like ‘perfection’.

Bumpr is a great Mac utility that allows you to choose which browser to open links with. I’ve been using it for the past year, but Khoi’s brief outline of how to open links from the iPhone on a Mac in the browser of your choice was news to me. If you own a Mac, getbumpr.com

My favourite long-form writing app, Ulysses, has just announced an upcoming Beta Test for version 13 of their app. They’ve hinted at new features, including: code blocks with syntax highlights, coloured keywords, daily goals and deadlines. A great app getting even better.

@ismh I’m intrigued by your post about a rumoured entry-level retina-MacBook being released by Apple in 2018. That sounds like just the type of machine I’ve been holding out for Apple to release for family use around the house. Insta-buy for me, if true.

I really like what Unsigned Integer have done with their presentation app, DeckSet for Version 2.0. I’ve never made a faster slideshow than by adapting Markdown notes directly into themed slides. (Note: No AppStore release!).
