Gruber points out that Tim Cook’s letter to Investors yesterday reads as though Apple intended iPhone throttling to drive customers to buy newer models. Apple, admitting that low-cost battery replacement hurt sales, certainly adds fuel to that fire. Mark Moskowitz called it too.

I really hope that Apple rolls out Apple Music support on Amazon Echo devices to countries other than the USA (and that it doesn’t take 2-3 years!). Apple Pay, Apple TV App, Apple News – So many of Apple’s services are not fully available internationally.

I’ve owned the Apple Airpods for 15 months now. They are easily my favourite and most useful gadget, second to my iPhone. Vlad Savov, a self-declared audiophile, wrote a belated review of the Airpods at the Verge and came away impressed, almost despite himself.

@ismh I’m intrigued by your post about a rumoured entry-level retina-MacBook being released by Apple in 2018. That sounds like just the type of machine I’ve been holding out for Apple to release for family use around the house. Insta-buy for me, if true.
